Rosary... What's that?

Rosary

WALT: Understand the Rosary.

What are they for?

The Rosary, is used, as a way to pray, in the Catholic Church.
The purpose of the Rosary, is to recall events in the lives of, Jesus, and Mary.

When do you say the Mysteries and what are they?

There are 5 different Mysterious. The mysteries divide the events of Jesus’ & Mary’s life in parts.
For example these are the 5 and this is what days you are meant to say them.

Monday - Joyful
Tuesday - Sorrowful
Wednesday - Glorious
Thursday - Luminous
Friday - Sorrowful
Saturday - Joyful
Sunday - Glorious

How you use them?

The beads of the Rosary are used to count the prayers
as you are saying them out loud or in your head.

1. First using the cross on the end of
the Rosary make the sign of the cross.

2. The recite the Apostles Creed.

3. Holding the first big bead above
the cross pray the Our Father.

4. Then with the next 3 small beads
you pray Hail Mary with them. This is for faith hope and charity.

5. Recite the Glory Be with the your finger on
the big bead just before the Rosary divides into two.

6. Depending on what day it is you will focus on one mystery.
Find a website that has information about that particular event.
You then say the first event that took place in the mystery and then a Hail Mary.
One person will lead the first half of the prayer and then everyone will join in with the second.

7. Recite the Glory Be.

8. And finish with the Sign of the Cross.
